This timing has to be a God thing on us coming across this sermon from David Hocking over the weekend. In some ways it’s a direct response to my previous blog entry: https://banditzlayer.wordpress.com/2016/04/07/the-biblical-being-in-the-wilderness-situation/
Please listen to this sermon carefully when time allows. Among the highlights include near the end when he starts getting into talking points about how/if people feel like their lives are so wrecked God can’t use them any more and so forth.
It’s true and this is why I quoted some of the Scriptures about not trusting feelings and the heart being deceitful and how it and earlier blogs have talked about how being it the wilderness takes us down to a blind faith level.
I would also like to share this article from Wilfred Hahn: http://www.eternalvalue.com/adownload/EVR_04_2016_WEB.pdf
As usual, I find Hahn to be a very refreshingly sober and balanced take on a number of subjects.
Among the highlights I would like to indicate the “deliverance for profit” segment which touches on a huge and growing pet peeve of disgust that I have and yes, if the shoe fits wear it. As the say in the world of politics: The optics look awful even if at least some people’s intentions are good.
CHINA AND CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION:
I think I have problems? All I have to do is remember my brethren east of the Atlantic and see the likes of this in China, for example:
My friend Walt F…. he knows who he is 🙂 … wrote this awesome post along with this article.
Horror as China tears down THOUSANDS of crucifixes in crude bid to eradicate Christianity
CHRISTIAN communities in China have been left horrified after the government started tearing down THOUSANDS of crucifixes in a crude bid to eradicate the faith in the country.
Walt F: “When I read stories like this, one question always comes to mind, WHY NOW? The answer could very well be the times we are in living in….last days. We know that Christian persecution will increase as we progress along God’s timeline.
I think supporting evidence lies in the rapid growth of Christianity in China. In another story I found on Slate the question was asked, “When Will China Become the World’s Largest Christian Country”.
NOTE: The Slate article is just one of many by various contributors asking that question.
Professor of Sociology and the Director of the Center of Religion and Chinese Society at Purdue University makes this observation: Protestant Christianity has been the fastest growing religion in China. When the CCP took power in the mainland (excluding Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau) in 1949, there were no more than one million Protestant Christians. Following decades of suppression and eradication, the CCP admitted in an official document released in 1982 that there were about three million Protestant Christians. Since then, estimates have varied. The Party-State has insisted on some very low-end estimates, suggesting about 23 million Protestant Christians in 2010; others—including missionary organizations outside China but also a reported internal document of the CCP—have made higher estimates, suggesting as many as 100 to 130 million in 2010. The Pew Research Center’s Report of Global Christianity, after carefully comparing the various estimates and reasoning through survey findings, reports that there were about 58 million Protestant Christians and 9 million Catholics in China in 2010. I think this is a more prudent estimate that may be used to make projections of future growth.
So WHY NOW? Well it is time for a Bible verse. King Solomon made the observation that there is nothing new under the sun, what has been will be again. China has always suppressed religion in all forms, but God will not be denied…….. Christianity continues to grow, but just like Egypt and the Jews I believe China’s rulers are beginning to fear the Christians.
8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.
9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:
10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
I think that is what we are seeing here, China’s leaders are fearing the growth of religious groups. Their answer historically has been to eradicate any evidence of Christianity. Little do they know that it will not be long till God helps them out by providing an Exodus of Christians en masse in the Rapture.
I couldn’t agree more and my feeble two cents and response to that is this:
There is a real underground revival going on there and the persecution is picking up. The Chinese government is going crazy because nothing they do is stamping it down successfully.
Yes, it absolutely is because of the times we are in. I am convinced myself that this and the Middle East underground revival could very well be the final push on the “time of the Gentiles.”
I would also add Psalm 2 and especially verse 4 as the response to the idea of “eradicating” Christianity.
On that same note from last week:
Israel and China increase cooperation
A major Israel-China conference was held by the Israeli Foreign Ministry this week. Subjects discussed were increased inter-governmental cooperation, and mutual relaxing of visa restrictions.
No question this opens the window for a time for more aliyah from China to Israel. I would not be surprised if some of the Christians get out this way as well to Israel. Avi Lipkin may very well be right in a near term scenario: If things get bad for the Jews in enough of these countries…and Christians… there is only one place they can go and it won’t be the United States. I can see why his Judeo Christian political party has an excellent chance of success. I would say it’s a safe bet at least in the near future.
Iran states that Assad ouster is a red line
Unlike what’s here in the West, my hunch is that this red line actually has some value behind it.
Syria Defies Russia in Bid to Keep Assad
Damascus, emboldened by battlefield victories, pushes a political plan even as allies prepare military offensive to retake Aleppo
Drama is as drama does.
In other words, whether they want to be or not, Russia is stuck and there to stay. Call me crazy but the first phrase that came to my mind was “hook in the jaw.” 🙂
Methinks it would do Assad well to not bite the hand that’s fed him and kept him in power this long. This drama has no signs of dying down regardless of chess moves with troops and military activity.
Saudis pledge to honor Israel peace terms for islands given by Egypt
Jerusalem reportedly kept informed of new agreement transferring authority over Gulf of Aqaba’s Sanafir and Tiran from Cairo to Riyadh
Given these countries eventual roles in future prophetic wars against Israel anything like this should be duly noted from a strategic consideration.
Fingerprints to be tested as currency in Japan.
This is not as new as it may sound and it’s an inevitable process for the eventual “post smartphone” scenario that some analysts say is 5 years or less away. What comes after that? A chip? We already see fingerprint usage common on smartphones and other devices so at some point it will be time get rid of the middleman as this “frog in the kettle” boiling process continues.
Stay tuned. It’s closer than you think if this is what’s being de-classified around the world. They could do it today if they wanted to. The only reason they can’t is because The Restrainer is still in place. See 2 Thessalonians 2:7.
Pay attention before it disappears along with all the rest of the material about giants that everyone used to know about back then but no one knows about or believe any more now.
2 Peter 3. We are living it now.
